Konya 4077 Block

Three wells were drilled on the Konya 4077 block by TPAO in the late 1970s in search for oil but not properly tested due to lack of equipment and expertise. The block was abandoned as gas discovered at that time was not considered commercial. Oman farmed-into the block in 2010, with first funding of a new exploration well and a work-over programme of existing wells resulting in recent drilling and oil/gas discoveries including:

• Karapinar-1: 3,360m total depth (TD), gas shows
• Karapinar-2: 3,024m TD, gas shows at 2418-2458m
• Gulhanim-1: 2,888mTD, gas discovery
• Gulhanim-2: 3,133m TD, oil and gas discoveries in multiple payzones

The block has immediate CNG production potential, and is only 18km from the BOTAS pipeline.
